iFruit 18 · FruitOS
The phone of Los Santos.
A real device in your character's pocket: SIM card, carrier line and signal, calls, messages with automatic translation, contacts, camera and photos. All in character, with the look and feel of a modern phone.
The screens
From lock screen to call.
Captured from the phone itself, in this page's language. Tap a screen to enlarge it.

Lock screen
Unlock with your face, a passcode or a pattern.

Home screen
Widgets with the city's weather and time. Hold an app to arrange the icons and the dock.

Control center
Pull down from the top: airplane mode, Wi-Fi, Do Not Disturb, silent, brightness and volume.

Phone
Keypad, recent calls and favorites, showing the names you saved.

Incoming call
Answer on the phone. The conversation goes through the chat: whoever is on the line reads what you say, and so do the people nearby.

Messages
SMS with delivery, read status and automatic translation. The original text is one tap away.

Contacts
Contacts live on the device: swap the SIM card and they stay with you.

Camera and Photos
Photos and selfies taken around the city, organized by day and by album.

Settings
Cellular network, battery, per-app privacy, light or dark theme and text size.
Try it
Use the phone right here.
It's the same interface that runs inside the city, with demo data: unlock it, open the apps, send messages and pull down the control center. In the city, everything comes from your character's line and device.
- Tap "Unlock with Face" to get in.
- Hold an app to arrange the home screen.
- Pull down from the top of the screen to open the control center.
Roadmap
What's ready and what comes next.
The phone is built in phases, from the ground up: first the device, the SIM card and the network; then communication; finally the economy and integration with the city. Each phase is tested before the next one starts.

The device
Phones as real items: serial number, battery, power on and off, passcode and face to unlock, device blocking, seizure and factory reset. FruitOS with a setup assistant, lock screen, home screen, settings and an app store.
- 1
Done
SIM card, line and cellular network
SIM card with PIN and PUK, a San Andreas Wireless line with plans and numbers by region, activated from the phone itself. The network is simulated: cell towers across the city, signal bars, 5G near the towers and dead zones.
- 2
In testing
Communication
Calls on the phone with speech through the chat, speakerphone, call history, SMS with delivery, read status and automatic translation, and service numbers like 911 and 611.
- 3
In testing
Contacts, Phone and Messages
Device contacts with search and favorites, keypad and recents in Phone, and the Messages app with conversations, translation and calling straight from the top of a conversation.
- 4
In progress
FruitOS and experience
Control center, Do Not Disturb, editable home screen with dock, weather and calendar widgets, text size, side buttons, slide to power off and custom ringtones. Still to come: more security from the screen (SIM PIN, passcode change) and storage quotas per app.
- 5
Planned
Internet and connectivity
Mobile data with allowances, Wi-Fi with networks, passwords and range, and sharing your connection from the phone.
- 6
Planned
Advanced calling
Call waiting, conference calls, voicemail, call forwarding and number blocking.
- 7
Planned
Translation everywhere
A single translation service for calls, messages and apps, with caching and fair limits for each player.
- 8
In progress
Device services
Camera with selfie and Photos already done. Next: location with per-app permission, sharing contacts nearby and Bluetooth.
- 9
Planned
Carrier, economy and market
Phone bills paid with the city's money, prepaid and postpaid, carrier stores, eSIM and new carriers with their own plans and towers, with number porting.
- 10
Planned
City integration
911 connected to emergency dispatch, 611 with automated support and business numbers that take calls and messages from customers.
- 11
Planned
Launch
Cell towers in their final positions, tests with many players at once, security and complete documentation.
The roadmap changes with testing and community feedback. Screenshots use demo data.
